For inspiration and just for fun, I love watching peoples Motion/Animation reels. I watch them so often that I spent a long time working out what I wanted mine to look like. I went through the motions like I would with any project, looking for reference/discovery and experimenting with animation methods until i landed on the 2 versions below. I don't often have time to work on personal work as, especially something as important to me so I really enjoyed the process and time spent.
I did my motion tests in Photoshop Frame-by-Frame in order to see how I wanted the movement to feel. This was my Pencil test I used as a starting point for animation in After Effects. As you can see designs changed a bit over time, I chose to make the Sun less of a character and focus more on the movements and adding some Frame-by-Frame secondary motions.
I really liked V2 but it felt a little more static and while I had planned a color pop, and lord knows I love a good color pop, it just felt kind of pale. Either way I wanted to see how things could look so I did a quick blocked out version using a Pencil Test from Photoshop as a guide.
