Motion Collabs is a frequent collab project encouraging designers/animators/motion designer and anyone who makes art to join in on a collective prompt. Sometimes it's done solo, sometimes it's big teams, either way we always end up making something memorable. For full videos check out their site at https://www.motioncollabs.com/
This Motion Collab was about Octagons! We were given a color palette and a starting and ending position/scale for an octagon. The rest was up to us! Done in After Effects primarily but a lot of extra cel animation done in PS. I wanted to get some 2d cel hands in the mix.
This collab was a lyric video for the song Carried Away by Passion Pit. Everyone had a short section to animate however they wanted the only rule was the aspect ratio and you had to animate a transition off. I went with a BG made in AE and animated text done frame by frame in Photoshop. Full video available at https://www.motioncollabs.com/collabs/9
This one was a single frame stitched together to make a run cycle, the prompt being that you needed to make it about where you're from. I went with a 3d background made in Blender and a hand sketched version of myself (Man bun in all ). Full video can be seen at https://www.motioncollabs.com/collabs/10
This collab was especially fun as i got to design/animate it with my good friend Brandon Morgan. He did the bulk of the leg work setting up the animation file and coming up with the idea for the animation. I designed and animated the First and Third shots with Brandon handling everything else including that awesome logo animation at the end. You can learn more about Brandon and see his work at https://www.brandonmorgan.net/
The topic chosen for this collab was Zombies and I went with a humorous angle of Shaun of the Dead. Made in 72 hours, the full video is AVAILABLE HERE. First shot was illustrated by Samnum the rest was illustrated and animated by me.
